Today was a GORGEOUS day... probably the prettiest we have seen since moving here six month ago (yep, it has already been six months!). The sky was clear, the temperature was nearly 70 degrees, there was a slight breeze and the birds were singing in the first official days of spring. We decided that despite our pile homework the day was too pretty to spend inside. So, we headed to North Asheville. This is Beaver Lake:
It's a small man-made lake in the middle of a beautiful, older community north of the downtown area. For some reason, the lake was just recently drained, so it wasn't as scenic as usual. We parked the car and walked all the way around. We were hoping to find a paved trail - we are desperate to find a place to roller blade - but found a nice dirt trail instead. We can't wait to go back a little later in the year to see all the trees full and the water back up, and to rent a canoe to take out on the lake.

:) I have my first "sun kissed" cheeks of the year! Just went to an outdoor birthday party yesterday that I didn't realize would be outside. It was 91' degrees outside! Yikes! It will be a scorcher this year in Sunny San Diego!
What a blast for you and Trevor! We have a similiar lake like that back in Utah. I love the mountains and outdoors!!! Hmmmm North Carolina is looking pretty tempting for a next duty station pick??? ;)
Wow - shorts and T-shirts! I can't wait for that! We just had more snow! But it's supposed to warm up soon... I can't wait until we can start getting outdoors more and start exploring Colorado. When we moved here I was too pregnant to do much of anything, then Emma came along, and it's been too cold for ages... so I am really looking forward to some springtime weather!
